Tandem Skydiving - Skydive Australia - experience the ultimate rush!! This activity caters for all levels of skydiving from first time jumpers to national champions.
Climb aboard, fly to 14,000 feet (almost 5km), connect together, climb outside the plane and SKYDIVE. Freefall lasts about 60 seconds reaching speeds of around 200km/hour before the instructor pulls the ripcord to open the parachute. Once the shute is open you are invited to assist the instructor in flying, or you can just relax and let the instructor do the work while you take some breathtaking shots of Coffs Harbour.
Don't just dream about it, do it!! This is a once in a lifetime activity, go for it!!!

Whitewater Rafting -
Nymboida River - While in Coffs Harbour, don't miss whitewater rafting at its best on the Nymboida River. Its an excellent day of fun. You leave at 7am and get back at about 5pm. The trip includes morning tea, lunch and BBQ evening meal. Its brilliant fun, there are grade 3, 4 and 5 rapids and a total of 25 rapids over 9km. You travel through the most spectacular scenery of virgin rainforest and true Australian bush. There are also rock jumps, rope swings and swimming in the rapids.

Goolang Creek - the Goolang is a great alternative more gentle whitewater rafting site. Its a fabulous fun half day out where you get to reft the Goolang rapids which reach a maximum of grade 3 and experience great outdoor bush scenes and spot kangaroos. The more gentle rafting means you can also try your hand at Boogie-boarding the rapids too!!

Surfing - Have you ever stood on the beach in awe of the surfers riding the waves onto the beach?

Here's your chance to join the other surfers and immerse yourself in the waters of the Solitary Island Marine Park witha surf lesson from Surfing Coffs Coast. They will teach you the basics of surfing, Surf awareness and beach safety.

Horse Riding - Why not give it a go and enjoy a trek through the rainforest. Amble at your own pace through the bush, whether you want to canter, trot or walk, its up to you. No experience necessary, however, if you are an experienced rider you can get up to 500 metre runs. - top horse riding
Sea Kayaking - Explore the unique environment of Coffs Harbour marine life and its extraordinary beauty on a sea kayak. The kayaks are extremely stable and are "sit-on-top" style and so we can cater for all levels of fitness. On 60% of trips they get within close range of dolphins. Whale Watching - June to November. Each year 8,000 magnificant humpback whales and there calves visit the pristine waters of Coffs Harbour. Imagine the thrill of a 50 foot, 40 tonne whale as it launches itself out of the water in striking fasion right before your eyes, then waves its pectorial fins and slaps its tail. Its awsome!! To see these in action you can either take a 1/2 day trip onboard the Pacific Explorer or take a nice walk up to the top of Muttonbird Island and try to see them from there. whale watching
Surf Rafting - A new unique "Australian Adventure" activity which has you surfing the waves with plenty of thrills and spills, great fun for everyone. Included in the price is breakfast on the beach. - top surf rafting
Canoeing - We are just opposite Coffs Creek which runs parallel to Harbour Drive. We have free canoes you can take out on the creek. You can paddle down towards the ocean or up to the Botanic Gardens It is a great ride and the scenery is beautiful. canoeing
Porpoise Pool - Shows daily at 10.15am and 2.15pm. Relax in pleasant sub-tropical sunshine and enjoy the spectacular antics of the fun-loving porpoises/dolphins and funny fur seals. Fishing - A variety of fishing trips are available from Deep Sea fishing to Game Fishing. We also have rods and reels available at the office free of charge. Bait can be purchased from the service station adjacent to the hostel. Ask at the office for the best fishing spots. fishing
Jet Skiing - "Commotion in the ocean" - jet ski in the Pacific Ocean at Park Beach. 15 minute and 30 minute rides, single and double seaters available. Various other trips available such as the "Dawn Patrol" and whale watching in season. - top jet skiing
Go-kart Racing - At the Raleigh International Raceway. High speed go-kart racing on a large track. Raleigh is a 30 minute drive away, so let us know if you are interested and we can help organise transport. go karting
Flying - At the local flying club there is an introductory flight you can do. The first 20 minutes you watch a video and learn about the controls of the aircraft, then the second twenty minutes you go up with the instructor and YOU FLY the plane over Coffs Harbour!! Firstly out over the ocean then back over the banana plantations and in for your landing. - top flying
Big Banana - at the Big Banana the famous banana smoothie is not to be missed. You can also catch a toboggan ride, go ice skating, hike to the top of the plantation, watch the candy making displays, visit the art and craft shop, swimwear and leisurewear shops and of course you can do the tour of the plantation by bus or train. The ice rink is also at the Big Banana. And now there is an indoor snowski run. big banana
Beaches - All the beaches are great beaches. Jetty and Park Beaches are just a 5 minute walk away. Jetty beach is the recommended safe swim beach as it is protected from big waves and rips by the harbour walls. Park Beach is the patrolled beach in the holiday season so we recommend this for swimming and boogie-boarding. The main surf beaches are Park Beach and Boambee. - top

Walks - there are lots of great walks in Coffs Harbour.
~ Muttonbird Island and the Marina - beautiful area and spectacular views back over Coffs Harbour. Depending on the time of year you may see Dolphins, Giant Turtles and Whales swimming off the Island(June-Nov) Ask to borrow the binoculars.
~ Creek walk - either up to the Botanic Gardens and on to the CBD or down towards the ocean passing by the Pet Porpoise Pool.
~ Macauleys Headland down to Diggers Beach - start at the top of Park Beach and walk over the Headland. Breathtaking views over the ocean. Aboriginal sacred site en route.
~Jetty Foreshores - the old harbour pier and Boambee Beach to the south.

Dorrigo National Park - Dangar Falls - Dorrigo's renowned boardwalks make its rainforests on the edge of the Great Escarpment one of Australia's most accessible World Heritage areas. Walk above the treetops on the Skywalk, visit the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre and Canopy Cafe or try the waterfall tracks. While in Dorrigo visit and swim under the beautiful Dangar Falls within 1 km of the centre of town. Dangar Falls
Golf - Coffs Harbour boasts some of the best golf courses in Australia. The BIG Club (Bonville International Golf Club) is PGA standard and suited to the experienced golfer. The Coffs Harbour Golf Club is a 27 hole tournament standard course in Earl Street (close by). Sawtell Golf Club is a superb 18 hole course. There is an excellent driving range adjacent to the Racecourse in Howard street (close by). - top

Bus Service - There is a regular bus service from just outside the hostel that will take you to either the city or the plaza also Our Hostelbus runs in and out to town throughout the day and we will always happily give you a lift. bus service
Indoor Rock Climbing - On the Link road. Prices include all equipment and safety instruction. If the weather turns sour, don't waste the day, come climbing indoors. - top indoor rock climbing
Tennis - available on Harbour drive tennis courts just a 4 minute walk away. tennis

Ice Skating - There is an ice-skating rink at the Big Banana. There is an indoor snowski run too. ice skating
Botanic Gardens - an excellent collection of Australian native plants as well as established gardens from around the world. Also a great haven for a diversity of bird life. Its FREE and is only a 10 minute stroll towards town along the Creek Walkway. Koalas live in the trees there - ask a park ranger if you are not able to spot one. - top botanic gardens
Cinema - in town on Vernon Street opposite the Ex-Services Club, or at the junction of Bray and Orlando Street. Ask at reception for some discount tickets. cinema
Cartoon Gallery - a great little gallery situated in an old World War II bunker. It houses a collection of newspaper cartoons and updates its collection each month. It's cheap and great for a laugh. - top cartoon gallery
Swimming - Aussitel has a great pool for you and also there is a 25 metre indoor heated pool at Park Beach Road. Outdoor Olympic size 50 metre pool and a new heated indoor 25m pool on Coffs Street in the centre of town during the summer season. Swimming in pool
